FROM OUR CALENDAR OF INTERESTING EVENTS
Tuesday, February 5, 2008, 7AM, Robert Speik talks about Traditional Mountaineering on the ABC station KOHD, Channel 9 in Bend
Note:
I met the very friendly and interesting production staff at Bend's new ABC HD station. The control room was operated by six or seven guys and gals who let me snap digitals as I waited to go "on the air" I was introduced by morning hosts Jim Brinson (and Co-Anchor Lauren Biskind) and talked about winter backcountry travel, the Four Basic Responsibilities and Ten Essential Systems, showing my winter daypack and the new Spot Satellite Messenger system (which works where you cell phone is out of touch). I am told it went well thanks to the relaxed competence of the staff at KOHD. Thanks! --Robert Speik

Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 7AM, Robert Speik is invited back to ABC station KOHD, Channel 9 in Bend
