Self portrait of Pat Credican's successful effort to solo summit
the five Three Sisters Wilderness Peaks in 24 hours!
Pat is standing on the summit of
Mt. Bachelor with Broken Top and the Three
Sisters behind him. The total elevation gain was more than 15,000 vertical feet!
Pat Credican took this photo at dawn on his Five Peak Day. This is the
Terrible Traverse on North Sister that has claimed more than one life.
It
is composed of very steep friable rock with at least 2,000 of exposure
below. The Bowling Alley is just around the tan rock structure
at the
upper right of this photo. The traverse is normally coated with snow and
ice.
Pat Credican took this photo of the Bowling Alley on North
Sister, just beyond the Traverse.
Don't be fooled by the perspective of
this photo! (Note the ice that often coats the Bowing Alley.)
