North Sister crux of the Three Sisters Marathon!

Click on a photo to see it full sized. Broadband people can click here to see the full size page

Climber friend Pat Credican summits five peaks in 24 hours!  Pat is standing on the summit of Mt. Bachelor with Broken Top
and the Three Sisters behind him.  The elevation gain was more than 15,000 vertical feet!

Pat Credican took this photo at dawn.  This is the Terrible Traverse on North Sister that has claimed more than one life.
It is composed of very steep friable rock with at least 2,000 of exposure below.  The Bowling Alley is just around the tan rock structure
at the upper right of this photo.  The traverse is normally coated with snow and ice.

Pat Credican took this photo of the Bowling Alley on North Sister, just beyond the Traverse.
Don't be fooled by the perspective of this photo!  (Note the ice that often coats the Bowing Alley.)
