Green Lakes and Moraine Lake are among the most popular destinations in the Three Sisters Wilderness
Descriptions of the trail are in every guide book for the area. Camping at Green Lakes is so popular that the USFS Bend-Ft. Rock Ranger District Managers designated a group of attractive campsites, using wooded posts set into the rocky soil. I worked as a Volunteer Wilderness Ranger in the Three Sisters Wilderness for about three years in the mid 1990s and I helped improve these designated campsites. Leave-No-Trace Ethics and USFS Regulations mandate that campsites be discrete and located away from lakes, streams and trails. Of course you must be prepared to filter your water or boil it with a backpacking stove since camping fires are not appropriate at Green Lakes. See our pages on Light Weight Backpacking.

I will add to this page with more photos of the Fall Creek trail and Green Lakes in the near future.
