Al Gore and his young son summit Mt. Rainier
Al Gore and his young son on the summit of Mt. Rainier
Jim Frush, President of the American Alpine Club, sent me this photo of Vice President Al Gore and his son on the summit of Mt. Rainier. Al Gore took a break just before starting his campaign for the Presidency to experience a climb Mt. Rainier together with his teen age son. His friend Jim Frush, coordinated the summit attempt. Although the weather was bad, Al and his son persevered and summited together. --Webmeister
(The note "To Bob- From one President to another" refers to my questioning Jim's current Presidency of the AAC. There are actually two presidents of the AAC, Honorary President Robert H. Bates and President C. James Frush. At the time I was the President of Cascades Mountaineers. Jim Frush lives in Seattle.) --Bob Speik
